Colors are powerful. They can signal unity, evoke emotions, impact moods, communicate information, and recall treasured memories. Artist Odili Donald Odita harnesses the unique histories and layered meanings of colors to shape how we experience a given place.

In his work Field of Play, Odita reimagines the central point of AT&T Stadium—the field—as a kaleidoscope of color and pattern. His site-specific abstract painting sprawls across three walls, allowing viewers to experience it up close as individual compositions or all at once from a distance. Vibrant hues zigzag across each horizontal expanse, colliding and interacting with one another as they stretch across the building’s structure. By using the stadium’s architecture as his canvas, Odita extends the energy, movement, and joy of play from the field to the rafters.

Born in Nigeria and raised in the United States, Odili Donald Odita creates vibrant geometric abstract paintings that blend aspects of both American and African cultures. His work uses color to explore themes of culture and history, crafting visually compelling compositions that connect personal narratives with universal experiences.
